Online lecture "CHATGPT, ALEPH ALPHA and CO: What technical writers can learn from translators"

Organizer: tekom RG Süd-Niedersachsen, Speaker: Prof. Dr. Herwartz

Since 2017, the success of neural machine translation has had a major impact on the translation industry. The creative role of translators was initially reduced to the post-editing of machine-generated texts. However, the integration of machine translation into the digital translation process changes the requirements for the translation environment. The professional use of AI technologies makes working in translation and localization a demanding and technology-heavy profession. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Rachel Herwartz draws lessons from five years of AI in everyday translation and applies them to the future of technical editing. The online lecture will take place on 07.02.2024 from 17-19 o’clock. You can register at Event RG Süd-Niedersachsen (tekom.de).
